which is WHY many never truly "recover."
I’m not gonna waste your time making you read and gain life-altering insights about addicts and what drives our need to abusively consume alcohol or drugs, or engage in long-standing compulsions to go shopping, obsessively work out at the gym, or keep trying to BUY love, affection and admiration from others by always putting their feelings and needs in front of your own.
I’m just gonna offer you this unique literature, in hopes you’ll have the exceptional courage to read and integrate it, and finally be able to understand and help yourself or a loved one, who has addiction issues.
Take your time with this article. My “Little Book” is lengthy, incredibly comprehensive, and it goes remarkably deep into our human psyche to help both the conscious and subconscious mind comprehend the root cause of all addiction, and what’s needed to fully recover and heal~ not just deprive ourselves by abstaining!
Incidentally, most “addiction recovery” therapy and programs have absolutely no way to understand or truly resolve addiction issues. Their model is to make you abstain from doing the thing you’re addicted to doing. If I told ya you could never eat chocolate again, wouldn‘t that be the first, most immediate thing you’d crave??
In my world, abstinence isn’t a fix for such a complex issue! I have never asked a client to give up masturbating, over-eating, or engaging in a behavior that undermines them (and for which they shame themselves afterward).
I have merely asked folks to phone me for a few minutes, whenever the urge to act-out and harm themselves, first arises. Interrupting the impulse to “use” and learn self-soothing techniques in that moment while staying out of the head (no thoughts, memories, narratives or mental pictures are allowed) is what dismantles and helps us emotionally develop, and literally outgrow all addictive behavior.
No need, the addicts are not around me. I walked away, sleep when I hurt is my new drug because Tylenol and Ibuprofen don't help you they hurt you and or cause clots when taken with meds you need so happy happy, joy joy, when the pain is too much, I have chosen my plan b.
