Can you accept criticism~ no matter how gently it's delivered?
What does it mean, to develop a thick skin? It means we no longer have a shame attack, if someone corrects or finds fault with us.
It means our sense of Self and ego strength are not defined by anyone else's opinion of us. We've come to fully accept and embrace who we are, AND who we aren't.
I means that while another is holding up a mirror for us to become even more aware of our behaviors that may be hurtful to them OR undermining to ourselves, we can take-in that criticism, assess whether it will benefit us to work toward changing and improving at bit, and NOT shame ourselves for feeling "imperfect" in another's eyes, while we're at it!
Emotional growth is hard. Most folks are way undercooked in terms of adult development, yet they do nothing to alter this condition, until they're in the midst of an emotional train wreck that creates enough inner agony for em, they can't remain in denial about their maturation deficits any longer.
Sadly, it's those excruciatingly painful occurrences that are often the only motivators that force people to get help. Try not to be one of these individuals.
As the old saying goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Trust me, if you wanna navigate your relationships and life's journey successfully, you'll be making emotional healing and development your TOP priority.
