Do you ever wonder WHY some actors get type-cast??
Notes from Mean Mommy:
"Having watched the pilot episode of American Gigolo (which was pretty entertaining, if not troubling at times), I couldn't help but marvel at Rosie O'donnell being type-cast once again, as a diesel dyke.
Actors are supposed to have a decent range~ that is, be able to play different types of characters~ yet time and time again, Mz O'donnell apparently gets chosen for the only role she can play. One can only ask, Is she really THAT one-dimensional??
For me, seeing her play the same character over and over again feels tedious. Why can't someone dress her in a nun's habit, and have her portray a compassionate, generous Sister of the Cloth? Or a kind and humorous neighborhood baker? Or even, a loving breeder of Labrador puppies?
One-trick pony "Rosie" MAY have some acting chops, but ya couldn't tell by Me, 'cause she's always a mean-spirited, harsh, anti-feminine, ball-breaking C U Next Tuesday, and it must be the only personality facet within which she feels at home.
Hey Hollywood, how 'bout giving this broad a challenge now and then, and casting her as ANYTHING BUT a diesel dyke?!
