Do YOU keep trying to save the un-savable??
It's so damned easy to forget:
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Some of us try endlessly to help someone, when they're either unwilling to ACCEPT our help because they don't feel worthy of it, or they're afraid to step into the unknown, by leaving their pain and failures behind.
I've said for many years now, you can't be ready until you're ready. If you're not READY to heal and grow, you'll reject these changes. I've likened my work at times to teaching post-graduate classes in emotional development, to preschoolers. Ones lack of emotional development prevents them from grasping and integrating new perspectives, concepts and paradigm shifts.
You can get angry or frustrated by not being able to get through to another you're trying to help, never realizing they're incapable of taking in and utilizing what you're trying to impart. Being able to take a step back and realize this fact, potentially saves you a lot of torment.
Chellie Campbell once said, as you go thru life, you'll encounter Your people and Other people's people. The trick in life, is finding Your people, and not bothering with all others. It's the same for every business model. If you're trying to sell to people who can't recognize the need for your expertise in their world, you won't get far with 'em.
YOU may see them as bright and worthy of your help, but the age of their soul will determine how successful you'll be in assisting them. Young souls resist effective help. They're stuck in self-sabotaging patterns of choice and behavior, and they're scared to feel happy and content, based on having been programmed during childhood to anticipate the worst~ especially after feeling stable or good for a brief time.
Clients who've made enormous strides have undermined themselves, due to this type of anxiety reflex~ and it takes Herculean patience to dismantle their automatic inclination to self-sabotage, just when life begins to feel much better. The truth is, not everyone WANTS to get well and be happy, as hard as this is to fathom.
Bottom line, we stay with the Devil we know, because it's a known entity to us and a lot less frightening, than venturing into territory that's unfamiliar and uncharted~ even if that means we'll get to experience far more bliss and joy, than we ever thought possible.
