Problems vs Issues
I think a lotta people confuse episodic problems or struggles, with issues. Shit happens on personal and professional levels of our existence, and that's probably never gonna change.
Issues on the other hand, have to do with long-standing gunk we keep carrying around that gets in the way of our being able to build and maintain healthy, nourishing relationship experiences, financial gains and overall contentment.
Here are some categorical issues that most of us have engaged in at one time or another: Lack of healthy boundaries, Hyper-controlling personality aspects, Narcissism (neglecting to consider another's needs~ not just our own), Codependency (needing to be needed by others to fortify our sense of worth), Acting-out our difficult to discern and talk about feelings, rather than talking them through with another, Poor self-worth, Self-destructive tendencies, Addiction to various behaviors, substances or people who treat us badly... and the list goes on and on.
Issues can be rectified with the right type of help. We don't have to keep lugging 'em around~ but often, if they're not putting us in excruciating inner pain, we're not motivated to seek the help we require to put them to bed once and for all, and resolve 'em.
Unresolved emotional issues tend to keep rearing their ugly little heads to create more obstacles in our daily life than is normal~ especially when it comes to the dynamics of close relationships.
The upshot? If we're in denial about the issues we're still holding, the landscape of our life will have considerably more potholes than it would otherwise.
