1) you left out military deployments and in my family my father was constantly sent off to build big rigs around the world. Tough love for the parents and newlyweds.
2) Safety first - having lived through the plagues of the 20th & 21 st centuries (not everyone is as brave as every sign of the zodiac, Ms. Scorpio) what's the harm of taking a break with a long distance relationship?
3) Again Safety first- maybe too many reality-based love shows on TV advising- yes, 3 dates, marry and you will live in bliss. Scares the beedeedeebies out of me. You stay in Boston and I'm fine right here with my ferocious ankle-biting guard dogs in case things go crazy.
All in all - as consenting adults go for it. Love is love. Life's too short. ❤️
