The Intellectual Majority versus the Intellectual Minority.
The world is made up of average people. The average person is gullible, naive and narrow minded. They never look deeper than what is told to them, nor do they question authority.
Bright people are few and far between. They are circumspect, curious, skeptical and not easily swayed into believing what others routinely accept as "fact." When presented with new information, BRIGHT people research it thoroughly, to determine if it makes sense to them, and decide which parts of it don't.
From this vantage point, an internal decision making process commences to decide if most of the data makes RATIONAL sense, or it doesn't. If their findings appear well-presented, factual and true from multiple perspectives, BRIGHT people (who have ample emotional development on their side in terms of decision-making capacities) make logical, practical choices.
Emotionally impaired people (those with personality disorder features who struggle with developmental arrest) are not capable of assessing truth from fiction. Borderlines have the emotional maturity of toddlers who are lacking in impulse control, boundaries and empathy. We call them "Borderlines" because they live precariously on the edge or 'border' of psychosis.
Psychosis prevents one from distinguishing between reality and fantasy. It's why Borderlines often seem cognitively disordered, when picking a fight with you over something you never stated, yet swearing that you did. Information goes into the Borderline's brain, but gets distorted into something they believe is mean-spirited or toxic to them.
Empathy for what you are needing to convey therefore, is as completely lost on a Borderline, as it would be if you tried to communicate your somewhat complex emotional responses to a 3 year-old. You might as well be pouring your heart out, to a sack of flour.
Someone who's incapable of empathy cannot be concerned with the 'greater good' of others. They may 'sympathize' with a hurt animal or human, but they are incapable of identifying with and relating to another's feelings and pain, due to having dissociated from their own vulnerable feelings, since the age of 2 or 3.
If you're not ABLE to have sympathy and compassion for your OWN pain, you cannot RELATE to the pain in another! This is the Borderline's crucible~ and why, no matter how hard you try to comfort them when They're upset, they REJECT you for struggling to be heard and compassionately responded to, by THEM!
Some people who lean 'right' in our government at present might refer to 'Leftists' as "socialists or communists." This is NOT accurate. What these people literally are, is emotionally under-developed. They cannot SEE the Bigger Picture of what their assumptions, actions and beliefs are bringing about, nor will they be able to admit error, when they are finally proven wrong. One with BPD traits can never admit to having made a mistake, because being "imperfect" in their eyes, triggers too much core shame in them.
Societies are mostly comprised of average people. If this were untrue, there'd be nobody to perform the most important jobs on our planet, like garbage or waste pick-up, envelope opening at credit card and utility company facilities, various governmental sinecures, and other low mental-functioning, yet ESSENTIAL jobs held by people with less than stellar IQ's.
God bless all those folks, because THEY are the ones that keep our world working, while the rest of us (few), try to make it an even better, more habitable and rewarding place.
