A benchmark for "normal?" Just what IS that, anymore?

Can't help it. Watched a recent film, "After Yang" the other night, and aside from the fact it was an odd journey that didn't have a decent resolution, it pissed me off. This is a futuristic film, where we're able to buy humanoid robots. This family wanted their adopted young Chinese daughter to have a babysitter, playmate and mentor who could teach her about her ethnic background and culture, because Caucasian Daddy and androgynous looking black Mommy, are way too involved with their respective careers to provide enough attention to their kid (so why the fuck did they adopt a child?!). That's it in a nutshell, folks.
